Celebrating 10 years in London's Kew Gardens

For the past 10 years, The Australian Shakespeare company has transformed a corner of The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew into an open-air theatre where audiences connect with powerful stories under the sky.  This summer we’re bringing three fun-filled productions to London: Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, directed by the ASC’s Artistic Director Glenn Elston, Keneth Grahame’s whimsical story The Wind In The Willows, adapted by Glenn Elston and directed by Otis Elston. Also joining this year’s line-up and making its UK debut is the magical Jack And The Beanstalk, directed by Dennis Manahan.

"Each of these productions has been crafted to celebrate imagination, humour and the shared experience of theatre, and I can’t wait to see Kew come alive with the energy, creativity and wonder of audiences enjoying these shows together in such a beautiful setting" says Artistic Director Glenn Elston oam.

Set against the idyllic backdrop of Kew Gardens, each production brings the Australian Shakespeare Company’s unique style of interactive outdoor theatre to the UK. From Shakespearean comedy and classic storytelling to a beloved fairytale, the season showcases the company’s commitment to creating theatre that encourages audiences to laugh, connect, and become part of the story.

For the Australian Shakespeare Company, returning to Kew is an opportunity to continue sharing its distinctive approach to outdoor theatre with audiences in the UK. Over the past decade, this corner of the gardens has become a place where stories come to life under the open sky, with the natural world providing the backdrop for moments of comedy, adventure, and imagination.
