HSC Unit Module: Textual Conversations

Unapologetically wicked, students lean into witness the creation of this Machiavellian villian in his blood bath to the crown - through his own beheading. With engaging exploration of the characters, the women of the play, analysis of the historical context and Shakespeare's language, students then leap imaginatively into the role of composer through the lens of Looking for Richard, deepening their ability to draw parallels.

  • Comparative analysis
  • Shakespeare as a historical writer
  • Appropriation
  • Characterisation
  • Exploring assumptions and perspective
  • The women of the play
  • Investigating textual features and conventions
  • Shakespeare's language styles and how they inform character and drive the story
