Our outdoor theatre productions have entertained over 1,000,000 people over 37 years however unpredictable weather can sometimes play the spoilsport. Here, we'll provide you with essential information on our outdoor performances handle wet weather and what steps you can take to ensure an enjoyable experience, rain or shine.
When do cancellation decisions get made?
Cancellation notifications will only ever come on the day of the performance due to the ever changing and unpredictable nature of Melbourne weather. We aim to make the best decision for everyone, including the safety of our performers and guests, but will not cancel a show if there is a possibility for it to proceed. This may be the case in light to moderate rainfall.
Do your events run during all weather conditions?
Each show and venue has a different weather management plan. Some performances can happen in light to moderate rainfall while others can not.
What should I bring during wet weather performances?
We recommending bringing a
- Blanket to sit on.
- Waterproof jackets or ponchos to stay dry during light rain.
- Umbrellas for use to and from the venue. Umbrellas can not be used during the performance.
How Will I Be Notified of Cancellations?
If a performance is cancelled, you will be notified by a text message as well as by email within 1-3 hours of the performance start time. A link to request your new attendance date and time will be included in this correspondence. If you cannot attend any of the other performance dates, you will be offered a lifetime credit note for any of our upcoming productions.
It's raining/too hot and I'm worried about attending. Can I change my performance date?
Yes, you can change your performance date.
